This project involved a complete rebuild of a front porch entrance in Amesbury, Massachusetts, centered around preserving the home’s character while improving structural integrity. The existing porch roof was showing signs of sagging, a common issue in older homes where supports were resting on undersized blocks. To correct this, new footing supports were installed to properly carry the roof load and provide long-term stability.
The new porch framing was constructed using premium KDAT lumber and fully taped to protect against moisture and extend the life of the structure. Azek Coastline decking was installed for the porch surface, while the frame and stair risers were fully PVC-wrapped for a clean, low-maintenance finish. A barrel-shaped ceiling adds architectural interest, and the addition of colonial-style columns ties the new construction seamlessly into the original style of the home.
